Papier d'amour

Given that my attention span is shorter than that of a goldfish, I need to have many crafty pastimes on the go at any given time. Which means, of course, that they never get finished. But, uh, it's the thought that counts, right?

My current obsession is one I have rekindled - the ancient (?) art of collage. I've been buying books with rad, old-school pictures from the op-shop and tearing out the best pictures for this great, enduring kindergarten love (other kindergarten loves that have endured include colouring-in, spelling bees and juice).

Isn't that picture cool? I am toying with putting it in a frame for Baboushka's bedroom...although the dead moose is perhaps a little macabre for a 6-month-old...

Tearing pages out of books feels so naughty, but good naughty. I wonder if they will still let me be a librarian..?

Great idea! They somehow remind me a bit of the the pictures on the walls of "Pettson and Findus" :)

I would never ave thought of doing something like that!

Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Just the other day I saw a similar collage idea - cutting out pages of text from book and arranging them in a huge frame in a wonky, cool fashion. Then, the artist cut out photos of her family - the bodies in the appropriate size and proportion and glued them on top. It sounds whack but it was incredibly cool.

Oh I still love collage too. Especially the ripping part.

Lovely pictures.

I love the pictures, and collage!

I need a new coffe table so I can put glass on top and a collage underneath:)

Oh you are bad! I'm just glad they don't check library records before allowing you to become a librarian because I would be banned on the basis of too many late fines.

@Parapluie: They are a bit Pettson & Findus, aren't they?!

@Aneets: In the rare event that they do get finished, I'll stick them up ;-)

@K.Line: That does sound cool - it's so frustrating when someone with raw talent seemingly throws something together, and if I tried to recreate it, it would be lame. Darned talent.

@Alli and Cristi: thanks, guys! There's something so satisfying about the ripping part ;-)

@Miss.Katie: Now that is a cool idea!

@Ballarat Vintage Style: oh gosh, so would I! I only paid my uni library fines at the very end - they wouldn't have let me graduate otherwise ;-)
